On April 27th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, we had our very first Wearable Technology Workshop. The workshop was facilitated by the Manager of the NYU Tandon MakerSpace, Victoria Bill, and our TA Magdalena Sawicka. We used Adafruit Gemma in this workshop.
The most important facet of this workshop was that by the end of it, the participant students had something tangible.
During the beginning of the workshop, Victoria showed different kinds of conductive fabrics and conductive threads. During the workshop, the participants learnt how to to use LEDs in conjuncture with Gemma, conductive fabric, conductive thread, and conductive tape to make a blinking LED T-shirt.
Thanks, Rodney! I am excited to continue these workshops and see what students come up with!
This was one of the most fun and out-of-the box workshops we had this year 🙂
