NYU Steel Bridge Results!

NYU Steel Bridge is a VIP Team that works out of the MakerSpace and MakerGarage to design and construct a 20 foot long bridge that can hold 2500lbs and meet several other specifications. The NYU Steel Bridge VIP Team has recently competed in the annual American Institute of Steel Construction Competition. Although this year’s competition was virtual, the team was the only one in the metropolitan region to build a bridge. As a result, they were placed in the deep south region for the regional competition and placed second! This led them to the nationals competition that can be viewed here

For anyone who was unable to join the live stream and would like to see their competition entry, videos of their build and loading can be found on their YouTube channel (nyusteel) and are linked below. Their national entry will be different from their regional entry, as they are making significant changes to their bridge design to perform better at a more competitive level. Be sure to follow their YouTube to check out their nationals submission! To learn more about NYU Steel Bridge, visit their website here.
