We finally had a Raspberry Pi workshop, facilitated by our TA, Simon Chen. The workshop began at 4:00PM and ended at 6:00PM on April 20th.
All participants were split into 2 groups and were given a PI, an HDMI cable, and a giant display. Simon taught the participants from the basics – How to start the pi and how to install the Raspbian OS. He also showed the differences between an Arduino and the PI.
He then taught them to connect to the NYU wi-fi. The highlight of the workshop was building a small simple smart LED circuit. By sending ON and OFF commands to the PI, the students were able to turn the LED on or off.
